Mention a teammate in an internal note to bring a conversation to their attention. They find it in one place: the My mentions view.

Time: about 2 minutes

Before you start

  • You need the Owner, Admin, Supervisor or Agent role to write notes. Viewers can't.
  • Mentions work in internal notes only. The customer never sees a note.

Mention a teammate

  1. Open a conversation in Conversations.
  2. In the reply area, switch from Reply to Note.
  3. Type @. The Mention a teammate list opens. Keep typing a name to narrow it down.
  4. Pick a teammate. Their name is added to the note as @name.
  5. Finish the note and click Save note.

You'll see "Notified" followed by the teammate's first name, and "They can see it under My mentions."

If the list says "No teammate matches that.", check the spelling. If it says "You're the only member of this workspace — invite a teammate to mention them.", you need to invite someone first. See Invite your team.

If you delete the @name text from the note before saving, that person isn't notified.

Find your mentions

  1. Click Conversations in the main menu.
  2. Click the My mentions tile.
  3. Click a mention in the list. The conversation opens with the note that mentions you highlighted.

Each mention shows who wrote it, the start of the note, when it was written and the conversation's status. If you have none, you'll see "No mentions yet" and "Notes that mention you will appear here."

The number on the My mentions tile appears after you open the view for the first time in your session. It shows the mentions Mevrik has loaded, so it may be out of date until you open the view again.

Troubleshooting

I mentioned someone and they can't find it Ask them to open Conversations → My mentions. Make sure the @name was still in the note when you saved it.

The mention list is empty Only people in your workspace can be mentioned in a note. See Team and roles.

"Couldn't save note. Please try again." Try again. Your text stays in the box.
