Connect a support mailbox and the emails customers send to it become conversations in Mevrik. Your AI agent and your team reply from the inbox.
Before you start
You need:
- The mailbox you want to connect, and its login.
- A Mevrik account with the Owner or Admin role. Other roles can see the page but can't connect.
- For the Other option (IMAP and SMTP only): your mail server's IMAP and SMTP host and port, and an app password.
An email address can be connected to a workspace only once.
Connect Gmail, Outlook or Zoho Mail
- In Mevrik, go to Settings → Channels.
- In the Email group, find Email and click Connect.
- In the Connect Email dialog, choose Gmail, Outlook or Zoho Mail. Each one is labelled Sign in.
- A sign-in window opens. Sign in with the mailbox's account and approve access.
- When the window closes, Mevrik refreshes the card. Your mailbox appears in the list.
If your browser blocks the sign-in window, Mevrik opens the sign-in in the current tab instead.
Connect any other mail server (IMAP and SMTP)
Use Other for Yahoo, Fastmail or a self-hosted server.
- In the Connect Email dialog, choose Other.
- Fill in:
- Email address
- App password
- IMAP host and Port (the form starts with 993)
- SMTP host and Port (the form starts with 465)
- Turn on Use STARTTLS only for port 587. Leave it off for port 465.
- Click Connect. You'll see a message such as "support@yourcompany.com connected".
Under Advanced, Allow insecure TLS skips certificate checks. It is for self-hosted servers only. Leave it off unless you know you need it.
Confirm it works
- On the Email card, click the connected count.
- Your mailbox appears with the Active badge.
- Send an email to that address from another account. It appears as a conversation in your inbox.
Reconnect
If a mailbox shows Expiring soon, Token expired or Disconnected, click Reconnect. For Gmail, Outlook and Zoho Mail, the sign-in window opens again. For an IMAP mailbox, the Connect Email dialog opens so you can enter the details again.
Disconnect
- Open the list on the Email card.
- Click Disconnect next to the mailbox, then confirm. You'll see "Email disconnected".
Your AI agent stops answering that mailbox immediately. Existing conversations stay in your inbox.
Troubleshooting
"This email address is already connected." Shown under the address field. That mailbox is already connected to this workspace.
"Couldn't reach the mail server" Check the IMAP and SMTP host and port, then try again. A wrong password can also cause this.
"Some details look invalid" Double-check the address, host and port fields.
"Too many attempts" Wait a minute, then try connecting again.
"Enter a valid email address.", "Password is required.", "IMAP host is required.", "SMTP host is required." Fill in the field named in the message.
"Couldn't connect your mailbox" Something went wrong on our side. Try again in a moment.
"Failed to disconnect email" Try again in a moment.
The Gmail, Outlook or Zoho sign-in window closes but nothing connects Mevrik can't tell whether you finished or cancelled the sign-in, so it just refreshes the list. If your mailbox isn't there, click Connect and try again.
