Connect a Telegram bot to Mevrik. People message your bot in Telegram, and your AI agent replies.

You can let Mevrik create a new bot for you, or connect a bot you already made with @BotFather.

Before you start

You need:

  • A Telegram account.
  • A Mevrik account with the Owner or Admin role. Other roles can see the page but can't connect.

Create a new bot for me

This is the fastest way. It happens inside Telegram, and you don't need @BotFather.

  1. In Mevrik, go to Settings → Channels.
  2. In the Messaging group, find Telegram and click Connect.
  3. Choose Create a new bot for me.
  4. On a phone, click Open in Telegram. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone's camera. Telegram opens with your new bot ready to confirm.
  5. Confirm in Telegram. Mevrik shows Waiting for confirmation… and a countdown (Link expires in), then closes the dialog and shows "Telegram connected".

If the countdown runs out, the dialog says This link expired. Click Generate a new link and try again.

Connect a bot you already have

  1. In Mevrik, go to Settings → Channels, find Telegram and click Connect.
  2. Choose I already have a bot.
  3. In Telegram, start a chat with @BotFather.
  4. Send /newbot and follow the prompts to name your bot. (If the bot already exists, you can find its token through @BotFather instead.)
  5. Copy the API token that @BotFather gives you.
  6. Paste it into Bot token in Mevrik and click Connect.
  7. You'll see a message such as "@yourbot connected".

If the bot is already used by another integration, Mevrik asks "Reconnect @yourbot?" and tells you that connecting it to Mevrik will disconnect it from any other integration currently using it. Click Connect to continue, or Cancel.

If your bot already had custom commands, Mevrik keeps them and shows "Your existing bot commands were kept."

Confirm it works

  1. On the Telegram card, click the connected count.
  2. Your bot appears with the Active badge.
  3. Send your bot a message in Telegram. The conversation appears in your inbox.

Reconnect

If your bot shows Token expired, Expiring soon or Disconnected, click Reconnect. The Reconnect Telegram dialog asks you to paste your bot's token again from @BotFather, then click Connect. You'll see "@yourbot reconnected".

Disconnect

  1. Open the list on the Telegram card.
  2. Click Disconnect next to your bot, then confirm. You'll see "Telegram disconnected".

Your AI agent stops answering on that bot immediately. Existing conversations stay in your inbox.

Troubleshooting

"That bot token doesn't look right" Double-check the token @BotFather gave you and paste it again.

"This bot is already connected" The bot is linked to another Mevrik account. Create a new bot with @BotFather, or disconnect it there first.

"A different Telegram bot is already connected" Your workspace already has another Telegram bot. Disconnect it from the Channels page first, then try again.

"Couldn't register the Telegram webhook" Telegram may be temporarily unavailable. Try again shortly.

"Telegram isn't set up on this workspace yet" Contact support.

"Managed bots aren't available yet" This workspace can't create a bot automatically right now. Use I already have a bot instead.

"Couldn't start bot creation" Click Try again. If it keeps failing, use I already have a bot.

"Failed to disconnect Telegram" Try again in a moment.
